Aims or Purpose of Group

To assist and support Members with their family histories and genealogies, the Townsend Society of America collects and preserves artifacts and written materials illustrative of the Townsend families and their many contributions to the nation's history.  Established in 1962 in Oyster Bay , the Society now serves over 500 Members worldwide.

Normal Meeting Schedule (Please confirm before attending since schedules do change.)

Formal Annual Membership meeting last Saturday in October.

Informal meetings and research at our office and research center M-Th 8a.m.-4:30 p.m.,

Membership is open to all who share an interest in the goals of the Society, and consists of Townsends, Townsend descendants, historical organizations and other interested parties.
