JEWISH GENEALOGY SOCIETY OF LONG ISLAND
The
Jewish Genealogy Society of L. I. works to encourage genealogical research,
to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge and information pertaining to
Jewish genealogy and research techniques, to encourage members and the public
to pursue and preserve genealogical data, and to educate the public in the
correct performance of genealogical research.
Service,
Resources, or Benefits Provided to Members
Members
receive a quarterly periodical, LINEAGE; JGSLI OnLine, an electronic
newsletter; and monthly meeting notices. Other membership benefits are discounts on materials and programs;
research advice and support; access to JGSLI tapes and government forms; and an extensive collection of genealogy books housed
at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library.

Beginner's Workshop (autumn); annual international conference (summer).
Note:
Contrary to widespread belief, extensive Jewish records exist in Europe, USA,
Israel and elsewhere. JGSLI can help you look in the right places.
Normal
Meeting Schedule (Please confirm before attending since schedules do change.)
Most
meetings are open to the public. There is no charge for guests or
non-members.
Meetings
are normally held the fourth Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM, except July and
August.

the same household), $15 outside Nassau, Suffolk and Queens.
