On page 123 is a reference to the Tucker house which was rebuilt by John Bull,

"creating the quaint pretty one known to us from the painting on glass done by E

dwin Dodge, Clark's foreman, in 1845".

 

Page 139 :

"Among those who died after what James Clark describes as 'an inoffensive life

' was Edwin Dodge, who left behind him the charming painting of Clark's factory,

of which he was foreman. (This referred to the 1852 typhoid outbreak in Street

)

1851 - 86 High Street, Temperance Hall. Described as grocer. Perhaps he also o

wned a grocers shop as well as working for Clarks.
