Both John and his wife, Hanna Tilman, were born in Virginia. Shortly after their marriage in 1821, they migrated to Ohio with John’s father, Jacob. Around 1850, John and his family moved to Indiana, settling in Howard Co. Following John’s death in 1859, his widow and most of their children migrated to Guthrie Co., Iowa. John and Hanna raised a family of eight children, two sons and six daughters.

In this way, you can scroll through a particular family lineage. The "Home Card" button (above) will take you to the first person in this lineage. If you click on either "parent" in the Web Card, you will be taken to their Person Sheet. The Person sheet contains the same information as the Web Card, but in greater detail, including dates and references. From the Person Sheet, you can return to the Web Card by clicking on the Web Family Card at the bottom.
