Rachel Flory was the daughter of John Flory, while her husband, Christoffel, was the grandson of Joseph Flory, John’s brother. Thus, Rachel and Christoffel's father were first cousins, and Rachel and Christoffel were first cousins, once removed.

Rachel and Christoffel appear to have spent their entire lives in Lancaster County.

Nevertheless, together they raised a family of 11 children. All of the children survived into adulthood, but two died in their twenties (Katharina at age 23 and Anna at age 27). Five of their children left no known descendants and four left less than 50 descendants each. The majority of their descendants were through sons Samuel and David. Their descendants are included in the David Flory site.
