Conrad Springer, Magdalena's husband, purchased the land her sisters
inherited from their father. Magdalena and Conrad lived in Rapho township
and appear in the 1790 and 1800 censuses. According to the census records,
they probably had six children, three sons and three daughters. They were
the only Springer family in Rapho township during this time period, although
there were other Springers in other townships.
In the 1810 census, Conrad Springer is now living in Northumberland Co.,
and flanking him on the census records are John and Joseph Springer. At
the same time, a Jacob Springer appears in Rapho township. It is possible
that John, Joseph and Jacob are sons of Conrad and Magdalena, although
there are other Springer families scattered throughout Pennsylvania. Neither
Conrad nor Magdalena are found in the 1820 census, suggesting that at
least Conrad had died by 1820. In 1820, Magdalena would have been in her
early 60s and judging from the census entries, Conrad would have been
a few years younger.
