-- John Spencer gives the year of birth for Thomas as 1853 "in this year
Stephens Lake broke away when (and?) Jake Herrington and Lewis Shearer lost
their lives being carried away by the flood."

-- Farmed near his father's farm along the Buller Road. Birthdate verified in
1993 from 1901 census records supplied by Lily Corson, Box 41, Plenty, Sask.
S0L 2R0.

-- not much known about this family. When the area was visited by Howard
Spencer in 1977, the farms were in a severe state of disrepair and the forest
was reclaiming the land. The farms had been purchased by "tourists" from the
cities to the south. They wanted to use this area for summer residences.
