6. James LEWIS1 was born about 1670 in Westerly, Washington Co., RI. He died in 1745. His will was written May 6, 1740, probated Sept 10, 1745. Executor was son James. The Will gave to son James a fifth of movables; to wife Sarah, a third of movables for life and then wha tshe leaves to go to son James, and daughers Sarah Enos, Mary Hall and Elizabeth Crandall; to second son, John, five shillings, " he having had"; to son David, five shillings; to daughters a fifth each of movables; to grandson Benjamin Lewis, which was a son of my daughter Ruth Lewis, 10 pounds taken out before division. Inventroy was 388 pounds, 5 shillings, 5 pence, viz., wearing apparel, pewter, spinning wheel, loom, 4 books, 4 swine, pair of oxen, 4 cows, 3 calves, 23 sheep, heifer, etc.

Sarah BABCOCK (daughter of James BABCOCK and Jane BROWN) died in 1740. She was born in Westerly, Washington Co., RI. James LEWIS and Sarah BABCOCK had the following children:
