3. Jonathan LEWIS¹ died in Aug 1710 in Huntington, Suffolk Co., NY. He was born ab t 1658 in Westerly, Washington Co., RI. He lived in Westerly and Huntington, NY.

He married Deliverance while residing at Smithtown, RI. She was the daughter of Benjamin Carman, who d. 1694. Jonathan Lewis took the oath of allegiance on Sept 17, 1679. On Jun 3, 1698 he executed a document reciting that he had married Deliverance, daughter or widow (?) of Benjamin Carman, and that he had received certain property which he held in trust for the three daughters, Sarah, Mary and Dinah, of Benjamin Carman. It has been proposed that Deliverance was the widow of Benjamin Carman, and that her surname was really Townsend. Jonathan moved to, and d. Huntington, Long Island, NY. In his will, executors were Epthemus Platt, Nathaniel Weeks and John Whitman. He mentioned wife Deliverance and several children.

Jonathan LEWIS and Jemimah M. WHITEHEAD were married in 1683. Jemimah M. WHITEHEAD (daughter of Daniel WHITEHEAD and Jeannie (?)) was born in Whitehead, NY. Jonathan LEWIS and Jemimah M. WHITEHEAD had the following children:
