What can you tell me about postcards in this period?

I am only beginning to learn about the designing, publication, printing and distribution of postcards during the late 1800s and early 1900s. I will welcome your comments or recommendations for websites and books to help me educate myself in this area. But since I'm not an authority on these matters, I won't be responding with advice for you!
