JOHN WHISLER and ANNA SPITLER married April 20, 1820 and settled in Appanoose County, Iowa about 1855. Descendant of this family are seeking to find any connections with the Whislers in Washington, Iowa (just south of Cedar Rapids). If this rings a bell with you contact Marcia.

SARAH S. WHISLER/WHISTLER who married EZRA BREESE is valiantly being searched for by Mary. Please e-mail her if you know anything!

THEODORE WHISLER was probably born in Belgium about 1811 and had three children born in Knox County, OH; Anna, Nicholas and Theodore (Jr). Anna married Henry Peters; Nicholas married Frances Mueller and Theodore married Barbara Allerding. Steve would like to find Theodore Sr.'s spouse and birthplace and time, etc. E-mail him if you have information.

THOMAS WHISTLER (aka: WHISLER) and MALINDA WILLIAMS This couple lived during the civil war era, and in fact Thomas served with the 52nd Regiment, Company F, of the Illinois Volunteers from 12 Oct 1861 through 28 Nov 1864. He was the son of John Whisler and Elizabeth Kiehl who are in Family 7 of Oby Bonawit's genealogy works. I show conflicting birth dates in 1835 for Thomas and would like to obtain some proof of birth. Together they had 5 children, John Thomas, Ruth May (married Harry Burns), William Perry (my great-grandpappy), Dora Alice (married Isaac Burns) and either Nora or Norma A. (married Fred Justus). WILLIAM PERRY WHISLER and IDA ELLEN RAHN/M My great grandparents were raised and bred in Whiteside county, Illinois. My questions regarding them are: 1) Why did they decide to uproot and come to California at the turn of the century and when; and 2) What did both of them die of since they were both relatively young and died a year apart.
