Emily Curtis, wife of James Mahurin
Died in Spring Valley, Minn., February 26, 1892,
Emily Curtis, wife of James Mahuran [Mahurin]. The
Subject of this sketch was born in Northumberland,
N.H., January 14, 1820, and was married in Stratford,
N.H. in 1852, and moved to Minnesota in 1867.
She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her
loss. Mrs. F. A. [Isabelle] Baker, Mrs George T. [Katie]
Albro, and Mrs. H. B. [Etta] Turner, living in Spring
Valley, and Mrs. C.D. [Clara] Washburn of Owatonna
were present at the time of her death. She was a
great sufferer, her disease being a virulent tumor,
but she bore her sufferings with patience and chris-
tian fortitude, and evinced a perfect willingness to die,
her only regret being to part from her family.
She was a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal
Church for the last twenty-five years. Services
were held at the house.
