Baptisms in Sellin, Kreis Greifenberg, Pommern in 1850
In the Sellin area, the Bischoff family lived. Friederike BISCHOFF (also called Bischof in America) Hintz apparently was the sister of Sellin resident Johann Friedrich Wilhelm, probably known as Wilhelm, Bischoff; Wefelow is a poor hamlet, today reached by a rough lane stretching through trees on one side and fields on the other, near Greifenberg. The Bischoff family appears to have lived in Rutznow at this time, primarily. Members of the Hintz family were millers in Rutznow. This is the same Hintz family that originated in the Woedtke area of Kreis Greifenberg, where Friederike's husband Johann Ferdinand Hintz was born in 1819.
Please note that in 1850 an Erdman(n) family member is listed in these Sellin records as having been Schulz in Woedtke. The Erdmann family lived in the Woedtke area from the time of the earliest available records.
