Note: This page is being tested a this site and so some links may not work.

Robert Collins and Susanna Coons Collins migrated from Virginia to Kentucky to Missouri.   William  Collins and Susan (Sallie) White and their daughter, Susan Francis Collins, who married John (Jack) Parr, are the focus here. They migrated from Fayette Co. Kentucky to Clay Co. and Buchanan Co. Missouri. Other Gen 2. research was done by others as noted.  A connected line of Biggerstaff's, at the bottom of this page, are related by marriage to the Collins line. This page is a work in progress and may contain errors.

Linda Holmes Mason has a photo copy of newspaper photo of William Collins.   This photo appeared in "Ten of the fourteen pioneers who formed the original townsite 'Town of Kansas' and laid out lots on the Prudhomme Farm," The Kansas City Star, Nov. 13, 1938, pp 1C-2C.  The photo shows William as having a full head of hair parted on the right, six inches of gray chin whiskers (clean shaven to 1 inch below lower lip), at least 50 years old.  This article apparently was to mark the centennial of the "November 14, 1838" townsite creation.  Photocopy is poor quality, so consult original newspaper source.

The woman above could be Susan Frances Collins Parr or it could be her mother Sarah (Sallie) White Collins.

CollinsMrs.jpg (123242 bytes)

This image of young Sarah (Sallie) White was glued to the back of the photo of Wm Collins and is probably a photo of a drawing.  Someone then did a bad job of re-coloring some parts.  Emmett Mason removed some splotches of color and repaired a torn place where tape had torn off the surface above her head.  We have TIF and MIC versions uncorrected.
