Luncheon Given for Guests Is Delightful Social Event
No social affair given this season in Elyria was more beautifully carried out than the buffet luncheon given yesterday afternoon by Mrs. Will Seward at her home on Middle avenue, as a compliment to her house guests, Mrs. Meyers, of Minot, S. D., and Miss Clara Hart, of Cleveland. The drawing room in which Mrs. Seward received her guests was artistically trimmed with poinsettes [sic], ferns and plants, the same arrangement in the decorative scheme being carried out throughout the rooms. Mrs. Meyers and Miss Hart assisted Mrs. Seward in receiving, and Miss. Swift and the Misses Dorothy and Margaret Cahoon were in charge of the dining room. Red shaded candlelabras [sic] gave an added effect to the charming scheme. Guests who called between the hours of three and six numbered about thirty-five, and during the hours beautiful music was rendered by a Victrola, screened by a lovely bank of ferns and flowers. Following the luncheon at six o'clock, Mrs. Seward entertained at a dinner party, at which covers were laid for ten, the appointments being beautifully carried out in the suggestive colors of Valentine Day. The out of town guests were Mrs. Swilt, of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Spaulding and sister, of Lorain; Mrs. Meyers, of Minot, S. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hawkins of Lakewood, and Miss Clara Hart, of Cleveland.
