According to Herman Ferguson's Mecklenburg County deed abstract book, there were many references to Armour Creek and Armour's Mill Creek, and families that owned property along it, such as Knox, Neel, Greer, Bigham, McCormick, Graham, Porter, Johnston, etc. Also, there was an Armour Ford (perhaps a crossing of the Catawba River) and an Armour Mill, probably in the same area.
