I was born in Cincinnati, OH and remained here most of my life until I married Jack 46 years ago. He worked for IBM and we moved around quite a bit. We spent short times in Poughkeepsie, NY; Kingston, NY and Rochester, MN and lived 2-1/2 years in Chicago and 8 years in Columbus, OH before moving back to Cincinnati about 29 years ago. We have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren.

        I was a stay at home mom while I was raising my children. When my sons were in college and my daughter was a senior in high school, I got a job as a receptionist in a Law Office and later became a secretary with the same office. I left the law office to start a bakery business out of my home, which I did for a year. Then I returned to the law office partime while I attended Travel School. I worked as a Travel Agent until I retired about 8 years ago.

        Jack and I are both retired now and have more time to work on our genealogy. My maternal ancestors are from Germany and I am determined to find out where they came from so I can visit there.

Factoids: Shirley celebrates a birthday on August 29th, under the sun sign of Virgo.

        My hobbies are, of course, genealogy and computers. I enjoy working on my webpages and doing computer crafts type things. I enjoy cooking and baking and collecting recipes. I guess the rest of my spare time is spent with grandchildren and family.
