Biography -
I was born in Detroit and educated in Detroit Public Schools
and obtained my MBA from Wayne State University.
My wife, Joan got us started in Genealogy in the late 1950's when she tried to fill in our oldest son's baby book and
learned that her Dad did not know his Mother's maiden name etc. -- thus started the search -- well before the days of
the Census Index. Our family now includes three children and seven grandchildren. My genealogy contribution while
working (36 years with a couple years off for the Army) was very limited as a I was climbing the executive ranks at
Michigan Bell and was there at the time of Divestiture and helped to set up the Computer side of Ameritech.
After retirement I volunteered at our nearby LDS Family History Center for six years. . My current volunteer
effort is as a Tram Driver Docent at a Botantical Gardens.
Factoids: Earl celebrates a birthday on August 21st, under the sun sign of Leo.
