Lois Parks, 94, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004.

Mrs. Parks was born Aug. 24, 1910, in Blair, Okla., to the late Benjamin Leslie Roberts and Mary McKinney Roberts. She graduated from high school in Blair, Okla. and attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Okla., majoring in pharmacy.

She married Ben L. Parks on July 2, 1932, in Erick, Okla. They lived in the Texas Panhandle for many years and lived briefly on the West coast during World War II. They lived in Shamrock for seven years. They moved to Memphis in 1952, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Mrs. Parks was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. Over the years, she and her husband made many significant philanthropic contributions to the residents of Hall County.

She was preceded in death by her husband on April 8, 2001; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Ben Parks and Larry Parks, both of Rockwall, Tx; a daughter, Joy Parks McQueen of Kingwood, Tx; six grandchildren, Shari McQueen Overstreet, Dr. Brent R. McQueen, Liz Morrison, Paige Parks, Cori Green and Murphy Parks; four great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today, in The First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating and Woodrow Richardson assisting. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home.
