Alfred Kennedy Glasgow Sr., 71, of Fruitland [Maryland] died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Eden, he was the son of the late Fred Hitch Glasgow and Georgia Evelyn Beauchamp Glasgow. He worked at Dupont's for 15 years, and then started his own business in 1973, known as Glasgow Electric, until retiring in 1997. Alfred was a lifetime member of the Fruitland Fire Department, of which he was a former deputy chief and active member for 31 years. He loved hunting and fishing, and above all, his family and many friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joan Lewis Glasgow, whom he married on Dec. 30, 1953, in Fruitland; four children, Alfred "Kenney" Glasgow Jr. , and his wife, Judy, Steve Glasgow, and his wife, Shelley, all of Princess Anne, Cynthia Tarr, and her husband, Steve, of Fruitland and Patricia Donovan of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Wilkins, and her husband, Vernon, of Salisbury; two brothers, Russell Glasgow, and his wife, Dorothy, and Frederick Wayne Glasgow, and his wife, Heidi, all of Fruitland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Glasgow Dewey; and a brother, Willard Glasgow. A fireman's funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., in Salisbury. A visitation will be held today from 10 to 11 a.m. The Rev. J. Harvey Dixon will officiate. Interment will follow in Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
