Hanging HOURGLASS
Sometimes when you click on a button or a hyperlink, you may find that instead of a new screen popping up, you just sit there staring at an hourglass. No matter what you do, you just have to wait for AOL to respond. Now there is a solution. Move your mouse cursor to the grey navigation bar at the top of your screen. Click on Help three times in rapid succession, then scroll down and select About America Online. You should now be able to resume using AOL.
Customizing Your AOL TOOLBAR
If there are AOL screens or Web sites that you go to frequently, you can add them to your AOL toolbar. If you find that you need to remove one of the pre-populated icons (Quotes, Perks, and Calendar), right-click on the icon and choose Remove from Toolbar.
AFTER YOU REMOVE THESE. YOU USUALLY CAN ADD 2 WEBSITES OF YOUR OWN
GO TO THE WEBSITE YOU WANT ADDED HERE.
LEFT CLICK ON THE HEART ON THE PAGE HOLDING IT DOWN AND DRAG IT TO THE TOOL BAR, A BOX WILL COME UP USUALLY ASKING YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO NAME IT AND CHOOSE AN ICON TO USE. THIS IS GREAT FOR THE TWO PAGES YOU FREQUENT MOST. YOUR MAIN WEBSITE OR SOMEONE ELSES YOU GO TO A LOT.
Simply drag the favorite place heart from your AOL screen or Web site to the right side of your AOL toolbar and let go. Follow the onscreen directions to choose your custom icon and label.
How to UNDELETE
If you are using Windows and you delete or backspace over text by mistake, try pressing Alt ON YOUR KEYBOARD and Backspace at the same time. Many times your deleted text will return.

KEYWORDS;
MANY OF THE KEYWORDS CAN BE TYPED INTO ANY SEARCH AND INFORMATION WILL COME UP NOT JUST AOL KEYWORD.
Keywords are the quickest and most direct route to most areas on AOL. Instead of clicking from screen to screen to find what you are looking for, you can use keywords as the ultimate shortcut to just about anything on AOL.
Simply press the Ctrl key and the K key on your keyboard at the same time (or the Apple key and the K key on the Mac) and the keyword box will appear.
OR ON AOL YOU CAN JUST HIT KEYWORD IN THE TOP RIGHT OF YOUR SCREEN.
Now type in a word associated with an area that you would like to go to. If you type in 'Screensavers,' for instance, the AOL screensavers special will appear. You will notice that many areas on AOL display the keyword on the lower right of the screen.
If AOL does not have an area for the keyword that you chose, you will automatically receive AOL Search, highlighting the best content associated with your keyword on AOL and the Web.
The keyword box will even work for web addresses. Simply type in a web address, like www.aol.com, and the web page will appear.
