In
the name of God amen. I, Francis
Belcher of Amelia County Virginia
Being
sick and weak in body, but of a sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be
to
God, do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner and form
following Imprimes.
I
give and bequeath all my Estate to my beloved Wife Phoebe Belcher during her
natural
life, She in consideration thereof is
to bring up educate and
maintain
all my Children and bind my sons out to such Trades or Callings as
shall
seem most suitable to their several Capacities
I
give and bequeath all my Estate after the death of my beloved Wife
Phebe
Belcher to be equally divided amongst all my Children, each to share
And
share alike; the same I give to them and their Heirs forever.
I
do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Executrix & my
friend
Richard Jones Esquire to be my Executor to this my last Will &
Testament
to which I have set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of July
one

This
Will was proved by the Oaths of Edward Jones one of the Witnesses
thereto,
and at another Court held for the said County June 27th 1782 the
same
was proved by the Oath of John Royall another Witness thereto and ordered to
be
Recorded And on the motion of Phebe Belcher the Executrix therein named
she
took the oath and gave Bond and security according to Law Certificate was
Granted
her for obtaining a Probate in due form
