    WE GIVE THANKS

Thanksgiving: A formal expression of thanks to God.
Sometimes we often think of Thanksgiving as a “season for giving thanks”.
Giving thanks to God is not a season nor a once a year event. Thanksgiving should be expressed every day for all we are thankful for in our lives.

We thank the lord for the many blessings he has given each and every one of us.

We as a nation and people have much to be thankful for.
We give thanks for the bountiful national blessings that Providence has supplied us with. Sometimes America forgets the humble beginnings of our nation. The study of one's family history helps to recognize those roots and to be more aware of their part in starting this country. We give thanks to our immigrant ancestors, who, despite a very real possibility of failure and even death, came to this land to carve out a new life.
The first Thanksgiving of the pilgrim’s may have been not what we have today. But it is clear that they were very thankful to God for surviving to see that day.

Our forefathers took time to gave thanks for the victories this country was given over its enemies.
Sometimes when all seemed lost, America has triumphed over powerful adversaries.
We give thanks for the right to elect our government officials, so that they are accountable to the people, and not to themselves. We give thanks for Divine protection. The same protection our ancestors lived under. It was faith in God that brought them to the shores of America. We give thanks and are awed and grateful that they lived the way they thought.
Everyone makes mistakes and our ancestors are no exception but they lived in their own era of time which was different than ours today. We all live and make decisions based on our thoughts and ways that are popular in the time era we live in. We give thanks for all the good they accomplished and try to make amends and change what was not.

This great Land has been greatly blessed over its lifetime. We can give thanks for America being as free as any nation can be, for the liberty to live and worship as we desire, for vast resources we have here, for the knowledge to use those to better life for everyone.
It seems the more we help other nations, the more America is hated by some countries for what it stands for, we give thanks to God for that; for in that hate it tells us we are doing something right and stand for something great.

We give thanks for the privilege to disagree with each other and the ability to protest what we believe to be wrong. Sometimes we as a nation forget all that we have. We give thanks to all that is right.
Not for what we want to be right, but what is morally right.

America may at times appear to be divided within itself but when trials and tragedy comes to our land, we are more united then can be expressed with words.
We give thanks for the great heart that dwells in our country. It is then that ordinary men and women give their life for a deep rooted belief.
It is the inherent right over all Creation to live freely.
We give thanks for what we are as a nation.
We are fifty individual states, yet we are a great family that makes up a great Nation:
    The United States of America.

Psalm 30:12, “To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.”

Psalm 35:18 “I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.”

Psalm 119:62 the Psalmist declared, “At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.”
