Search billions of records on Ancestry.com

This February Issue of the Belcher Blues Newsletter is of Virginia Originator Families. It is mainly pages of genealogy lines that people have sent us over the last few year. The lines are personal files of people and are not necessarily correct in all respects. This kind of research helps to get others started in the right direction.
Remember when you are researching on the internet, dont take all the files you see as face value, do your own research and use others research as a guide.
No better example of this is the personal research uploaded to rootsweb and on the familysearch website. The same person listed may have many different birth dates, parents, wives or children.
A document is entirely different. It states many things and can help greatly in research.
Virginia research is a very large area of research.
The Virginia Gen Web is a good place to start researching, especially if you know the county you are researching in.

The Virginia State Library is also a good place to get documented research on Virginia surnames. It takes time to go through this site. We have been researching a long time and still haven't gotten through all the files here.

Early Virginia Religious Petitions is also a good document area to search.

Many states or parts of states were made from Virginia. We have done a newsletter on West Virginia. Another state, Kentucky, was entirely made from Virginia and we will start our research on Kentucky in March. If you have anything to add in the Kentucky Newsletter please feel free to send it.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on the snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
