      29 May 1818

      Know all men by these presents that we Joseph Swinney and Phebe Swinney of Franklin County Virginia do for the love and affection which we bear to Prudence Belcher, Polley Belcher Warwick and Amey Belcher Cook, daughters of the said Phoebe and in further considersatin of five dollars to us in hand paid by the aforesaid Prudence, Polley and Amey the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged give and bequeath to the aforesaid Prudence, Polley and Amey after the death of the said Phebe Swinney all the estate which we are in possession of that is not bound by the wll of Francis Belcher Deceased.

      to wit horses, cattle and hogs, with all our household and kitchen furniture, plantation tools and utensils, our present crop we give to Prudence Belcher to them and their heirs forever, free from the claim or right of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness, wehreof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals, this 29th day of May 1818.

      Belcher from Swinney:

      Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Swinney of the County of Franklin and State of Virginia for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid before the writing signing and delivery of these presents doth give grant, bargain ,sell , and confirm to Francis Belcher Jr. of the County and State aforesaid all my right title claim and intterest in the Estate of the Late Francis Belcher deceased consisiting of negros, horses, hogs, and cattle, household and kitchen furniture of every description, plantation utensils, as well as every other species of property whatsoever.

      which propertu with its increase profits I do hereby relinquish to the only use benefit of the said late Francis Belcher provided.

      Nevertheless that the said Francis Belcher jr provide the sd Swinney with a house and home during Swinneys life witha lso such other convenience as are reasonable and necessary.

      At a district court held at Franklin Courthouse the 20th day of April 1807 This Bill of Sale from Joseph Swinney to Francis Belcher was proved by the oath of John Cook one of the witnesses hereto and at a District Court held at Franklin Courthouse the 21st day of Sept 1807 the same Bill of Sale was furthur proved by the Oath of Thomas Dunn another witness and was ordered to be recorded.       Belcher Estate Conveyance, 1814 Deed Book #7 - page 249 - Microfilm 0031499 FHC Belcher to Belcher- B of S - Olglethorpe County, Geogia Know all men by these Presents that I, Matthew Belcher of the County and State aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of fore hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Isham Belcher of the State of Virginia have bargained, Sold, conveyed and relinquished unto the said Isham Belcher all my right title, interest and claims to my portion of my deceased fathers estate who was by the name of Francis Belcher and made and executed his will in Amelia County in the said State of Virginia on the 29th day of July in the year 1781. To have and to hold unto the said Isham Belcher my said portion of my said fathers estate in as full simple & perfect a manner as the same is or may be held by any one of the legatees of the said Francis Belcher. In Witnesseth whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 29th day of Dec 1814. Sealed Signed and Delivered in the presence of Barnabus Arthur, John Arthur. Matthew [his mark] Belcher Georgia, Oglethorpe County Personally came and appeared before a Magistrate for said county and after being duely sworn maketh oath and saith that they were subscribing witnesses to the within relinquishment of dowry and that the said Matthew Belcher signed, Sealed and delivered the same for the within mentioned purpose sworn to before me this 30th day of Dec 1814.       Belcher/Cook Slave Sell, 1807 Deed Records - Microfilm # 0031498 Deed Book #5 1804 - 1811 p. 368 Know all men by these Presents that I John Cook for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Pounds in hand this Receipt where of is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained & sold & by these present doth bargain sell & confirm to Isham Belcher to him & his heirs forever a certain negro woman named Judy which said Negro & Increase I do forever warrent and defend against the Just claim or claims of all and every person or persons Whatsoever claiming the same by through in or under me.       Belcher/Prunty Deed, 1807 p. 317 This Indenture was made this sixth day of April 1807, between Robert Prunty of the County of Franklin and State of Virginia of the first part & Francis Belcher of the County of Franklin & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Robert Prunty hath and doth for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five pounds in hand paid this Receipt where of is hereby acknowledged, granted Bargained & Sold unto the said Francis Belcher a certain Tract or parcel of Land ---- containing one hundred acres more or less, lying and being in the said County of Franklin on both sides of the Long Branch; Beginning at a white oak in Elisha Eastis line, thence with Saml. Collands & John James's line crossing the Long Branch to Pointers in Bottom Eastis line, thence with his line to Jessee Eastis corner Hickory, thence with his lines to Elisha Eastis lines, thence with it to the Beginning. To have & to hold unto the said Francis Belcher his heirs etc forever in an indefeatible[?] Estate and the said Robert Prunty doth for himself his heirs & etc covenant and agree to & with the said Frances Belcher his heirs & to warrent & forever defend the said Land & premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining from the Just claims or demands of any persons or persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said Robert Prunty hath here unto set his hand & affixed his Seal this day & year above written. Signed in the presents of ____.
