Nancy Belcher, b. 1799, Tazewell County, VA, was child of Isham and Martha Patsy Hodges Belcher, who married 3 Jan 1791 in Franklin Co., Va, and settled about two miles SE of present-day Bluefield. She is mentioned in Isham's will posted with VAweb Archives. Benjamin Prince and Nancy Belcher married 22 Nov 1821 in Tazewell County, VA. The Tazewell 1830 and 1840 Censuses list Benjamin Prince as head of his household along with included males and females. In the 1850 TAZEWELL CENSUS, Prince is misspelled Prints, but the household is Benjamin's:
WAYNE COUNTY, WV, IN 1860 in Dwelling Number 839 are Benjamin and Nancy Prince, along with Isaac P. and Nancy Prince Tabor, their son-in-law and daughter and their three children.
IN THE 1880 WAYNE CENSUS, Benjamin and Nancy Prince appear for the last time, and it is clear that something has happened to Isaac P. and Nancy Prince Tabor's household. Birth Register of Births 1853-1870, Gate City, Scott County, Virginia, page B No name given 7 April 1862 Parents: Jonathan Belcher and Jane Belcher Place of Birth: Little Moccasin With the death of Jane Belcher in January of 1863, this entry had to have been Thomas Milbern. Thomas is age 18 in the 1880 Census Russell County, Virginia which have made his birth year 1862 or 1863. I certainly could not have been the s/o Margaret Gibson because Jonathan had not married her until 1865. Marriage Licence obtained Deed: dated 25 September 1909 Russell County Courthouse, Lebanon, Russell County, Virginia, Deed Book 51, page 366 N. M. Cooper and wife M. E. Cooper to T. M. Belcher for the sum of $200 containing 17.9 acres on the waters of Castle Run Creek. Bound by the land of N. T. Jesse and C.C. Osborn. Witness: N. T. Jessee recorded 25 September 1914

Notes for MARTHA (MATTIE) MINTON:
Court Record and Deed: Found a court record dated 14 March 1891 stating that the division of the estate of Franklin Minton (deceased) was handed to a commission consisting of W. N. Banner, Joseph Baker and N.C. Fugate to partition his land and assign the dower to his widow, Clarinda Minton. To his children Margaret Minton, Mattie Belcher, Mary Meade, Clarinda D. Jessee each received one-eighth of the land. Also alloted was one-eighth of the land to the infant children of Alexander Osborn and three-eighths to John F. Minton. The Commission divided the 144 arces of land as instructed. Honorable John A. Kelly, Judge of The Circuit Court of Russell County, Virginia resided over the partitioning. (Found in the old deed books held in Russell County Court House, Lebanon, Virginia. Deed granted 8 August 1890, Partition and Allot, Mattie Belcher, Minton, Franklin Est., Book 27, Page 331, area 20a) Deed: dated 10 February 1902 between Martha Belcher and William M. Minton. Sold the land that she received from her father for $200. Land situated on Castle Run in Castlewood, Virginia. I believe that this is the land that is along Castle Run at the entrance to the Belcher's old homestead. A small house is still there that was owned by Will Minton, who helped Frank on the farm. From my understanding Clarence Minton lived there at the time of Frank's death and was the person who found him. It is now owned by Lloyd Ramey.
