A large number of Chesterfield County Families started migrating ot Bedford County Virginia which is now Franklin County. These counties changed names and were parent Counties of Others. Isham was among these who migrated. Several Belchers lived in Franklin C ount Va in the 1700's.
Isham bought 100 acres of land from William Thompson.1758
Isham sold land of Richard Belcher deceased in 1758

An indenture in Franklin County Virginia was dated 1793 by Isham and Elizabeth his wife.
Indenture
There were other Isham Belcher's in Chesterfield County Va in the late 1700's.
The census and land records of 1801 and 1802 Chesterfield County has Isham son of Thomas and Isham son of Henry listed.(sons of our Ishan's brothers, Thomas and Henry)
One of these Isham's is most likely the one who married Winnifred Royall.

The three children above are not listed as John and Permelia's children in several genealogy pages.If Permelia was born 1797 then she couldnt be their mother, if she was born in 1785 as the census states then she could. I will leave the three children on, which line they are in is in question.
but according to an in depth researcher the census age is wrong.
the 1850 Monroe County census lists Hopkins, Preston, and John, so would seem they are his children.

Juanita Thinnes has researched this line and here is the first children she has for John and Permelia Biggers Belcher.
They had two young children [Hopkins, b. 1814. VA and Preston, b. 1816,] before moving to what was then Cumberland County, KY in 1816. This info is documented. The County line was moved in 1820, and their property fell into the new County of Monroe. Their next child was Mary, b. 1821, KY, then Harriet, b. 1824. Then comes:
