Allen lived at the mouth of Bent Branch of John's Creek, and was a farmer. Allen died when his wife, an invalid, was smoking a clay pipe in bed, and caught it on fire. He tried to put the fire out, but caught fire himself. The burns caused his death. He is buried on bent ridge Cemetery overlooking his home. Co., KY by William Coffee.
Joseph Lawson b. 1796, Scott Co., VA was the 3rd son of Travis Lawson and
Martha Simpkins. The Lawson family moved into Eastern Kentucky sometime
between 1808 and 1810.
On 10 Sep 1814, at age 17, Joseph enlisted in the
War of 1812 (National Archives Certificate #15873). He was stationed at
Fort Malden in Upper Canada and assisted in rebuilding said fort. He was
discharged 9 Mar 1815. In Declaration of Pension filed 8 Sep 1871, Joseph
was a resident of Morgan Co., KY and stated his wife's name was Mary A.
Belcher whom he married in Morgan Co., KY Oct 1815 (note one year
difference from KY marriage records).
He died 11 Jan 1878, Wolf Co., KY.
Mary Ann, as a widow, applied for Joseph's pension from the War of 1812 on
1 Feb 1879. She was a resident of Black Water, Wolf Co., KY at the time of
application and began to receive an allowance in Nov 1879. There is no
death date for Mary Ann in the pension file.
In the file it is stated that
Joseph and Mary Ann lived in Floid (sic), KY for 17 years, in Blackwater,
Morgan Co., KY for 44 years and at Wolfe Co., KY for 2 months. In the 1880
Wolf Co., KY census, Mary Ann, age 78, was living with her her son Francis
Marion Lawson, his wife Josephine, and their children.

Absolam Queen and both wives, Murphy and Stevenson, his son Henry, Molly, and their son John and wife Mary Ellen, Victoria their daughter, and Tennessee Queen are all buried there.
