Sometime around 1815, George and Robert Belcher and their families moved a little farther west to Lee County, VA. Bartley Belcher moved from Russell Co., VA to Pike Co., KY, where he stayed for a few years before moving to Wyoming Co., VA/WV, where he settled near the mouth of Mill Creek on the Guyandotte River. The place was formerly called Bartley (for Bartley Belcher), but has since been named Brenton.
Members of the Bartley Belcher family are scattered, today, throughout Wyoming County, WV, Kentucky, and Virginia.
