sold to richard russell of charlestown, gent., "two cow commons lying in charlestowne stinted
common on the south side of mystic river" [ 4:358]. on the same day "william stitson of
charlestowne in new england, yeoman, and mary my wife" sold to thomas danforth of
cambridge "three cow commons lying in charlestowne stinted common on the south side
of mystic river" [4:359].

"according to the historic record of the town of meriden , conn. vol 2 page 2, captain andrew belcehr was a mariner, plying between boston and hartford and his name occurs frewquently in the colonial recoards and he ebidently amassed a considerable fortune in his ventures, for he finally achieved the reputation of being the most opulent merchant in new england. he was shrewd and energetic. he was one of the counsellors of mass, the selectmen of boston. in 1688 he was accused of trading with a "pyrate" for hides and elephants teeth(ne hist and gen reg vol xxvii p 239-240). on june 18, 1700 he bought from the widow gilbert her share in meriden farm., his farm was now a very large one.on oct 22, 1707 he deeded to his son, jonathan his manor farm of meriden near a place called cold spring. andrew died: oct 31 1717."

in cambridge mass in 1681,
when son jonathan was born according to a bio of jonathan belcher.
eleazur,gaylord(gilliard) first s. of eleazur and martha thompson; settled at middletown, ct.; about 1720 purchased a tract of 28 acres; in 1772 he purchased another lot of 26 acres; also a negro boy named philip, from andrew belcher, of boston.
