ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Everything had fallen apart. The disciples of Jesus were gathered into a house, they shut the doors for fear of being discovered by the Jewish authorities. It was hard for them to accept what had happened the past several days. Jesus had been crucified and laid to rest in a sealed tomb. Then some of the women who had followed Jesus declared that they had seen angels telling them that Jesus had risen from the dead. But they still doubted, even them. One of the disciples, Thomas, had not seen the risen Jesus yet, and his unbelief affected everyone there.

Thomas exclaimed that unless he saw the nail prints in his hands and the wound in the side of Jesus, he would not accept what the others had told him. How could another human being come back from the dead. Sure, Jesus had told his disciples that he would be crucified and raised again the third day. But how could this be possible.

But something wonderfully miraculous happened. Jesus, suddenly appeared in the middle of the closed room and said to Thomas. " Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. With all his doubt now gone, Thomas confessed to the Savior " My Lord and my God." (St. John 20: 24-28)

How many times do we find unbelief, in ourselves, toward God and what he has and can do for us. As humans, we are all guilty of that at some point in our walk with Him. Its all in the way we approach things or problems we face. Its how we view it. We can look at it from the limited thoughts of man. Or we can change it by taking God's point of view. We can try to take care of it ourselves or walk beside the Lord and let him take care of it. That comes from faith. Our faith must be nourished and allowed to grow.

Sometimes we want to put God's power in our small human brains. Put a human limit on the Glory of God's un-searchable and infinite power. The Spirit helps us to accept what our Lord can accomplish. But he desires faith and trust in each of us. Just as Thomas finally cast off the chains he placed on his faith, we can do the same thing. " If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." (St. Mark 9: 23"

This Easter, Let us remember that Jesus was crucified and died; But on the third day, He arose in victory. A victory which promises us that one day we will see Him with our own eyes. And That where He is, we may also be with him.
