first, Sally Powell, Sally either died in childbirth or shortly after giving
birth to their son John. George married Mary Fugate 1783 Russell County
Virginia, dau. of Josiah
Fugate and Elizabeth.
Their 4th child, George Belcher Jr, was born 1788 and
died 1814 in Floyd County Kentucky. George Belcher jr was the 12th generation in this line
George Jr had a very short life. He married Elizabeth
Childers, dau of Pleasant Childers and Sarah Jeffreys (Jeffries): Elizabeth was born 1790 in Virginia
and died 1865 in Pike County Kentucky as Elizabeth Belcher Clevenger.
Elizabeth
had remarried to Alex Clevenger after George's death. George and Elizabeth's
son John Wesley Belcher was born in 1815, after George died.
On
John Wesley's marriage document Alex Clevenger is listed as father.
