John 3:16 (King James Version)
KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God Sent Jesus into this world that we might be saved. He was a gift to all mankind. A simple solution to help us find our Creator. Jesus was given so much of God's Spirit, that everyone who came in to contact with him could see our heavenly father through him. As an innocent babe in a manger, even wise men foresaw that Grace. We can serve the Lord with gladness and come before Him with joyful singing in our hearts. Often we have a hard time trusting and simply placing all our cares in the Lords hands. Even the disciples could not do that. Even though walked with him and were witness to the miracles that Jesus performed.
Psalm 100:3 tells us: "Know that the Lord, He is God." If we entrust to God all the works we do, we can serve Him without worrying too much about the outcome.
We sometime think wisdom is bound up in books and much learning. That to survive in this world, we must educate ourselves through man's knowledge. But Gods way is so much simpler. Less cluttered with books and words. It is a Star shining in the darkness our minds. The three wise men came from the east of Jerusalem following a bright star in the sky. Others were puzzled by its appearance. This was no ordinary star, but a light that God had prepared for His purpose. In the Gospel of John, Jesus is described as the light of the World. Even at his birth that Light was there. A simple truth. But the darkness in the world hid that from most. Even to day.
Let us follow that Light. It give wisdom that we cannot not even comprehend . The Angels brought tidings of peace to the shepherds in the fields around Jerusalem. That peace is now ours to receive if we will just ask God. Can you know the peace that the earth and the heavens experienced at the birth of Christ so long ago. The angels even sang of it. By understanding the results of your actions. Examining yourself, and correcting your motives in serving the Lord, you will honor the Lord with righteousness. Mans does what it takes to achieve what he wants. Everyone wants to succeed and be happy. But we must desire it by God's standards. So simple.
We can do all things through Christ. We are to be as innocent as that tiny baby so long ago. Yet walk in wisdom as adults as Jesus later did. Love flowed through Christ's words and actions. They were meant to draw all to Him. If they would just open there eyes to the Light they saw. It was and still is so simple. But people still refused the gift offered to them. Today hearts are still hardened against the Truth. Jesus is that truth. Even as the wise men and shepherds knelt humbly before Gods Holy child . As the light from that glorious star radiated above them. Can you see the joy and peace that they must have experienced. To know that this baby was special. A gift from Heaven. The grace of God.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God wants us to spend eternity with Him and the Son. The Light of Jesus will shine then. It will be peace to his children. Peace. like a pure river, will be there. Its so simple. The Divine truth of God. With the Good Shepherd leading us as a flock, . We shall hear His voice. That same voice which speaks to all men’s heart. A loving call that has sounded since Adam rose from the dust. Have you heard that voice.
Peace is ours for the taking. Just a heartfelt acceptance that changes your life forever.
Peace that men knew when the Son of God came into the world so long ago. And God walked among humans.
Full of Grace and Truth.
So simple.
So beautiful.
So peaceful.
So bright a Light in a world of darkness.
That Light healing lonely hearts.
The Spirit, a peaceful river calming all the pain in our lives.
This Christmas let us remember to serve the Lord with gladness, each and every day of our lives. A reminder to all of the Love of our Heavenly Father. To declare the un-measurable Love of Jesus Christ, Our Lord. That he gave up his Life at Gods side, to become a man. To find lost souls and bring them home to God.
So simple to understand. if you will but listen and see.
Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord. Amen.
