Jesus referred to himself as the "bright and morning star." Rev. 22:16

The birth of Jesus was announced by the appearance of a glorious star. So the light of love guides our hearts and minds through the endless points in our lives. It is the place of haven, where we find through peace.

Joseph and Mary must have marveled at the splendid star which hovered above the manager where their newborn son laid. The babe would be called the Son of the most High. The Saviour of all mankind, the Prince of Peace, the Captain of our Salvation. His kingdom would be established with judgment and justice for all.

The Creator knew that mortal man could not look upon His glorious appearance , so God made his Son, part of the God family, flesh and blood. Those who saw him in human form witness the face of Eternal God. Full of grace and truth, without the stain of sin. Ancient mariners once relied on the northern star to guide them safely home. When we admire the endless sea of points of light in the night sky, our eyes automatically search out the brightess star. It the light of His love that guides our hearts and minds through the endless points in our lives. It leads us to the place of haven, where we find true peace.

When we look on the bright shining Savior who willing gave upon his heavenly riches, we are amazed at His sacrifice for all. He stands outside the door of our heart and knocks to come in. When we allow Him in to our lives He and the father dwells within us. We can feel the peace of their presence in our lives, a reassuring voice of calm strength.

As we celebrate the birth of the Saviour, let us remember to be thankful for all the blessing He has poured upon us throughout the year. To be truly thankful for His protection from temptations, trial, sickness and death. As His children we know that He is with us even unto the end of our world.

Let us celebrate this special holiday season with great joy.
