Patty Lee Ramey

Patty Lee Ramey
BORN: January 4, 1957, Pike County, KY
Birthplace: Elkhorn City, Ky.
Hair: Originally brown
Eyes: Green/Hazel
Patty Ramey (Loveless)'s CD Mountain Soul has printed information inside. She has a picture of her Elkhorn City "homestead" and pictures of her parents and grandparents.
Loveless married Terry Lovelace, the Wilburns' drummer, in 1976, and after moving with him to Kings Mountain, N.C., they both played in various rock bands in the Charlotte area.
Although her marriage broke up that year, she kept her married name, changing the spelling slightly.
Her father, John Ramey, who retired at 42 because of black lung disease, died in 1979. Her brother Roger Ramey, is now her manager. Loveless' 2nd husband, Emory Gordy Jr., has produced all her albums for Epic.
Her parents were
John Ramey born (1908 or 1921) died 1979
and Naomie Bowling Ramey;
Patty's grandfather on her mothers side was Robert Drexel "Drack" Bowling; her g-grandfather was Reece Bowling; her gg-grandfather was Henry Clay Bowling. Drack's wife and Patty's grandmother was Virgie Minnix. Reece's wife and Patty's g-grandmother was Cordelia Overstreet. Henry Clay Bowling's wife was Rebecca Ratliff. All these lived in Pike Co KY.
There may also be a connection through Rebecca Ratliff to the Belchers.
John's parents
Lou and Molly Ramey. Could not find a Lou Ramey, so possibly name is nickname for Louis or Lewis or Lowry etc.
No information is found in the 1920 census for these under the name of Lou. there is a Lewis but his son John as born in 1908.
Loretta Lynn is said to be Patty Lee's cousin, if she is then it is possible John Ramey and Loretta's mother may be brother and sister. Nathaniel L could be Nathaniel Lewis and could have had John after the 1920 census.(this part is conjecture)
The 1930 census is the one that needs to be checked.
