The Evergreen State
Washington was admitted to statehood on November 11, 1889 as the 42nd state. The capital city is Olympia.
 In 1923, the state of Washington passed a law that describes their state's
flag as having dark green bunting with a state seal in the center.
Their flag is the only state flag that is green.
It is also the only state flag with a picture of a president on it (George Washington).
