MARY M. OGLESBEE GOES TO HER REWARD
A good woman answers the last summons Tuesday evening after long illness.
Mary M. OGLESBEE, widow of the late Joshua OGLESBEE, died at 6 o'clock Tuesday
evening at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
CONKLIN, of the Eleazer Neighborhood, with whom she made her home since the
death of her husband 4 years ago. Mrs. OGLESBEES death was caused by
tuberculosis of the glands of the throat. She had been in failing health for
several months, but was confined to her bed bed only during the last 3 weeks.
Mrs. OGLESBEE was 70 years of age. Her maiden name is Mary M. MCKAY and she was
born and reared near Lumberton in which section of the country she lived until
after the death of her husband. She was a member of the Old School Baptist
Church since early girlhood and was a thorough Christian woman during her entire
life.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Charles CONKLIN, Mrs. OGLESBEE is survived by 2
sons: Alonzo OGLESBEE of near Lumberton, and Horace of Dayton. There are also 2
brothers and 2 sisters as follows: George MCKAY, of near Lumberton; Alfred MAKAY
of near Wilmington; Mrs. Jane SHAMBAUGH, of near Lumberton, and Lucinda MCKAY of
near Wilmington.
The funeral will take place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. CONKLIN Thursday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the burial will be at Oglesbee Cemetery near
Lumberton.
