THE BELLBROOK MOON
WEDNESDAY - JUNE 20. 1894
BELLBROOK, OHIO
A good mother gone to rest
Last Monday all that was mortal of Mrs. Jean RAFFAN INGRAM, widow of the late
Alexander INGRAM, was laid to rest as the sunset shadows began to fall. Her
whole life was a blending of sunshine and shadow. She was born in Macduff,
Scotland March 3, 1811 her life in America began in New York, as a happy bride
in 1833. Her weary pilgrimage ended June 15, 1894.
Of a family of 8 children, 5 survive her; John R. of Cincinnati:, Wm H. of
Columbus, Mrs. G. R. WILDER of Cin., George at Chattanooga, Tenn. and Mary
Helen, whose home was with her mother.
She also leaves 5 grandchildren: Douglas, Irmogene, and Gwendolen INGRAM, and
Darryl and Lulu WILDER.
She was borne to her final resting place by her sons and grandsons and Mr. Jas.
WHITE, whose parents were the first friends to extend a welcome to Mr. and Mrs.
INGRAM when they chose Bellbrook as their home.
Her children were all at her bedside during her last illness, except
George, who failed to receive messages sent . Mrs. INGRAM answered the peaceful
summons to join the loved ones waiting her in her eternal home.
