AGED RESIDENT PASSES OVER BORDER

Mrs. Jane Chambliss, pioneer woman, answers death summons.

Mrs. Celia Jane Chambliss, widow of the late Mark Chambliss, and one of the oldest residents of the city, died at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon of the infirmities of age at her home, 329 West Main Street where she lived with her niece, Mrs. Marie Cline. She was in her ninety-first year.

Mrs. Chambliss had been in gradually failing health for the last twenty years, but she was not confined to her bed until last Monday when she was taken suddenly ill of intestinal trouble, she was considered in her usual state of health.

Mrs. Chambliss was born June 1, 1818 in Virginia, and was married there. Shortly after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Chambliss came to Xenia where they made their home ever after, and where both became identified with early life of the town.

Mr. Chambliss died about five years ago. The only child left is a daughter, Mrs. G.G. McClain.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been made.
