1150 Bishop Philipp von Osnabruck transferred the place known as Brotterbike to Count Heinrich 1

1189 -  Albert von Ibbenburen is supposed to be the first knight of Brochterbeck, which is to have been cruelly dazzled after a tradition by the Tecklenburger count Simon,  which is documented however not to be proven   the knights of Brochterbeck belonged to the richest and most outstanding Ministerialengeschlechtern the former count shank Tecklenburg.   They had possessions in Birgte, Reisenbeck, Horstel, Uffeln, Gravenhorst, Intrup and Gronau

1236 - Graf Otto I. erleidet Verluste wegen der Auseinandersetzungen über Einkünfte und Privilegien aus der Kierchvogtei Osnabrück.  Ein Vertrag wird an der Wallbrücke in Brochterbeck - dort war ein Freistuhl, ein öffentlicher Gerichtsplatz - zwischen Tecklenburg und Osnabrück geschlossen.  Konrad I. von Brocterbeck gehört mit zu den Ministerialen, die den Vertrag beschworen. - Count Otto I. suffers losses because of the arguments over an income and privileges from the Kierchvogtei Osnabrueck.   A contract is closed at the barrier bridge in Brochterbeck - there a free chair was, a public court workstation - between Tecklenburg and Osnabrueck.   Konrad I. of Brocterbeck belongs to the Ministerialen, which swore to the contract.

1247 - Everhard und Ludolfus de Brochterbeke werden als Zeugen genannt.  Gerhardus verkauft einen Hof in Octrup an ein Kloster in Steinfurt - Everhard and Ludolfus de Brochterbeke are called as witnesses.   Gerhardus sells a yard in Octrup to a monastery in stone ford

1372 - Elsebe of Brochterbeck (daughter Sander of Brochterbeck) marries Hermann of Borchorst

1375 - Beginning of the Tecklenburger feud (feud: old name for enmity, revenge, controversy;   Means of the private, arbitrary Rechtschilfe, fist right, bes. with  failure of the public jurisdiction).

1379 -A Johann of Brochterbeck is called with a Gert by Lingen in Rheine

1527 - Introduction of the reformation in the Tecklenburger country.

1541 - County Lingen under Tecklenburger - Protestant rule.

1547 - Niederlage des Schmalkaldischen Bundes:  Graf Konrad mus die durch Erbschaft zurüch erhaltenen Grafschaften Nieder und Oberlingen an Kaiser Karl V. abtreten.  Brochterbeck kommt zur Grafschaft Oberlingen, bleibt katholisch.- Defeat of the Schmalkaldi federation:   Count Konrad travels through the counties received by inheritance retained down and Oberlingen at emperors Karl Vth transfer.   Brochterbeck comes to the county Oberlingen, remains catholic.

1636 - In the summer  imperial troops plundered Brochterbeck.

1648 - To the 30th year the church of Brochterbeck comes into the possession of the protestanten.   Promotion flax and cultivation of hemp for the house linen weaving mill.

1672 - County Lingen 2 years in the possession of the bishop von Muenster.

1674 - County Lingen 28 years in Protestant possession.

1676 - Erse message over hard coal mining at the sheep mountain in Ibbenbueren

1696 - Dry summer, even the Weser drained

1702 -  The county Lingen with Oberlingen (Kirchspiele Ibbenbueren, recke, Mettingen and Brochterbeck) falls by inheritance to the Kingdom of Prussia.  Proclamations of the government take place from the minister in the church or Sundays after the church from the teacher.   Large unemployment,  many go to  Holland as seasonal workers to the peat stinging and Maehen abroad.   New strict customs are introduced.   Traditional customs such as contactor  celebrations, Oster and Martinsfeuer, house elevations, setting up May trees are forbidden.

1845 - Joh. Fired branching Meier Evangelist teacher in Brochterbeck, eit 1853 office men for Brochterbeck and Ladbergen

1860 - Die katholische Kirche wird durch Weihbischof Boßmann geweiht.The catholic church is geweiht by bishop Bossmann

1872 -  Last funeral on the cemetery beside the Evangelist church,  2 separate cemeteries are created.

1874 -  1339 inhabitants in Brochterbeck

1881 - First post office agency in Brochterbeck

1884 - First telephone connection with Lengerich

1899 -  Initialization of the Dortmund Ems channel

1901 - The Teutoburger forest railway takes up the operation.

1902 - The newest  accommodation holds 1,526 inhabitants, 999 catholics and 527 protestanten

1903 - Approximately 130 male young people     were accepted into those new created young man soundness.

1907 - The office Brochterbeck, which had formed a common office district with Ladbergen, is resolved. Both municipalities went over into the office Tecklenburg.
