Will of Thomas Barrett, of Ohio County, Kentucky

In the name of God Amen. I, Thomas Barrett, of Ohio
County and State of Kentucky, being very sick and weak
in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to
God for the same, calling to mind the mortality of my
body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men
once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and
testament, that is to say principally and first of
all, I give and recommend to the earth to be buried in
a decent and Christian manner, at the discretion of my
executrix, and as touching such worldly estate
wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life
with, I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth, the
whole of the real and personal estate to be disposed
of, and equally divided between my children, Richard
W. Barrett, Sally Pate, Joshua P. Barrett, William
Barrett, Ignatius Barrett, Mathilda Barrett, Thomas
Jefferson Barrett and James B. Barrett, as witness my
hand and seal, this 16th day of January 1819, Thomas
Barrett.
Test. John Ridgway, Thomas Smith. At a county Court
Holden for Ohio County, Kentucky on the 10th day of
May 1819 this last will and testament of Thomas
Barrett dec. was exhibited in court and duly proved by
Thomas Smith and John Ridgway, subscribing witnesses
thereto, and ordered to be recorded. A ____ Ch.
Henderson, Clerk Ohio County Court.
