HELLO GREG, ENJOYED YOUR SITE. MY HUSBAND HAD AN ANCESTOR, NANCY DAVIS (B. 1816 D. 1899)OF MORGAN CO., GA., WHO MAR. THOMAS BONNER (B.1812 D. CIRCA 1870), A SON OF ELIZABETH DUKE BONNER & THOMAS BONNER SR. NANCY & THOMAS JR. MOVED TO ALABAMA CIRCA 1759 & THOMAS REC'D. A LAND PATENT IN 1860. SOMETIME AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, THOMAS DIED, BUT THERE HAS BEEN NO INFORMATION AS TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES. NANCY RETURNED TO MORGAN CO.,GA.WITH THREE OF HER CHLDREN & DIED THERE IN 1899. HAVE YOU ANY INFO CONCERNING THIS FAMILY? I WROTE A HISTORY OF MY HUSBAND'S DAVIS FAMILY (650 PGS.)AFTER 9 YEARS OF RESEARCH & INCLUDED WHAT I KNEW ABOUT NANCY & THOMAS. NOW ON TO COLCLOUGH/NEWTON/STRIBLING. I AM DESCENDED FROM WM. STRIPLING SR. OF NEWBERRY CO. S.C. (B.CIRCA 1750/D.1815) HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DOCUMENT WHETHER WM. WAS FROM THE THOMAS STRIBLING & ELIZABETH TALIFERRO LINE OR FROM THE JOEL STRIBLING LINE. BOTH THOMAS & JOEL WERE IN THE SAME AREA OF VA. IN THE EARLY 1700'S. THE JOEL STRIBLING LINE IS CONNECTED TO THE NEWTON & COLCLOUGH FAMILIES & THE BERRYMAN NAME IS IN THE THOMAS STRIBLING LINE. DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ON EITHER OF THESE LINES? MY BEST REGARDS & ADVANCE THANKS IF YOU MIGHT HELP. ANN C. DAVIS

I have information that Rachael wife of Benjamin Colclough surname is Bolling. I also have in our family information that Sarah was indeed the daughter of Rachel and Benjamin, in fact I believe that was stated in the very first paragraph from St. Pauls Parrish in the information on Benjamin Colclough. As I have been looking for information regarding Kidwells I have the birth date and death of Rachel the same as in your records. I have seen no records of a Mary Thornberg being married to John Kidwell, father of Jonathan Kidwell and Sarah Colclough being his mother. I have census records backing Sarah and John Kidwell's children. Thank you for the opportunity of looking at your wonderful book on this family.

Gregg,

I have enjoyed looking at you work. We seem to overlap on a lot of our lines. I am a descendant of William Wood and Elenor Maris Wood. They have a lot of Woodward, Chapman, Pickle and many more lines that you have included in your work.

One item that I found on your home page that might interest you is Hettie Gant, daughter of Edmund Cooper Gant and Martha Pickle. Hettie Gant was married twice. The first time to a Cooper and the second time to William Ozro Chapman. She is buried in the New Bethel Cemetery in Bedford Co., TN. I have her death certificate. She was born 27 June 1874 and died 13 Nov. 1950. They married 12 Feb. 1908 in Bedford Co., TN. They had two children, (1) Blanche Chapman married Frank Lentz and (2) Carroll Swanson Chapman. I think she had a son by her first marriage (Archie Cooper)

Good Luck in your research!

I am looking for the parents of Nancy Watterson born in Virginia around 1820. She was married in Virginia to George Brown, born around 1809 also in Virginia. He was the son of George Brown born 1782 in Culpeper, Virginia and Mary Raeburn/Raburn/Reyburn, born in 1782 in Montgomery, Virginia. George Brown and Mary Raeburn/Raburn/Reyburn were married July 28, 1804 in Montgomery, Virginia. George Brown's father George Brown died in 1859 in Dearborn, Indiana. My birthdates for Nancy Watterson and George Brown are from the 1850 US Census for Dearborn, Indiana. I know they were born and married in Virginia but have no more, no death dates. I found them again in the 1870 US Census in Henderson, Illinois and in the 1880 US Census for district 4,Clairborne,Tennessee. I do have George Brown and Nancy Watterson's children, I have no information on Nancy Watterson's parents. I would appreciate anything you could give me that might help me find this information. I found Nancy's Watterson's name on my great grandmothers death certificate. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have that could help me find this information. How grateful I am for persons like you who are willing to take time and help others to locate and find information that they are searching for. I have tried to find this information but so far have had no success. Thank you for help you might be able to give me.

I am not sure my earlier post went through so I am trying this again. Sorry, not meaning to be a pest.

Dear Mr. Bonner;
I am sending you some information which I hope will be helpful for you.
In your Brumfield tree I notice an error which I will provide you with the more accurate information.
Under your listing for Oscar Washington Brumfield a wife is listed with the name of Jessie Yawn. This woman is my great-grandmother. Her maiden name is Jessie Hannah Andrews, b. Nov. 7, 1869 , d. Dec. 27, 1946. She and her husband are buried in the Andrews/Brumfield family cemetery near Liberty, Mississippi.
You have listed her 3 children who lived to be adults. She had one child who does not show up in any of the US Census due to her short life.
Annie Bradshaw b. Sep. 24, 1895, d. Sep. 27, 1897
The first son is named for his father so his full name is Oscar Washington Bradshaw Jr.
The second son’s name should be spelled George.
The fourth child is my late grandmother, Mattie McLaine Bradshaw, b. June 25, 1901, d. Dec. 10, 1985

Yawn is the last name of Jessie Hannah Andrews Bradshaw’s second husband. This was a late in life marriage for both her and her husband so there were children from this marriage. Mr. Yawn was a widower who had several children from his earlier marriage.
I do hope this information will be helpful for you.

Hello
I have been researching the Lemaster line for over 15 years now. I hit dead end after dead end. My GreatGrand Father was William S Lemaster, he married a Georgia Studdard, they lived in Marshall County, Alabama. Some of the names you had listed for Lemasters I have seen many times. I have searched every data base, court house and library, and nothing. I have heard so many stories that the Lemaster's were running from the law, as well as the draft, that they would change names and birthdays to avoid things. I even heard they would run through cemetaries taking peoples names, and using them as their own. So after 15 years of dead endeds and torn hopes Im giving up on this line. I heard that William could be the brother of James Monroe. Who knows. Im sure you have some stories yourself that you have heard. If you have anything on the Lemasters contact me, I will give you what I have, maybe two heads are better than one.

Hey, I appreciate what you have put on the internet for all of us "family seekers".
I just started research into my family genealogy last February and my mother's maiden name is Formby. I've got the main line done and am filling in families. My main line is Dorothy Eugene Formby (my mother) > Eugene Nesbith Formby (Grand Father) > Lucious Harwell "Luke" Formby (G- Grandfather) > Eugene Nathan Formby (GG-Grandfather) > Aaron Formby II (GGG-Grandfather) > Nathan Gunn Formby I (GGGG-Grandfather) > Nicholas Gunn Formby III (GGGGG-Grandfather) > Nicholas Formby II (GGGGGG-Grandfather) > and so forth. I'm spreading out now and picking up siblings and children. If you have anything on Eugene Nesbith Formby, Lucious Harwell "Luke" Formby, or Eugene Nathan Formby I would love to see it.

Thanks Cecil

On your Rootsweb free page index you have the names of Zachariah Reid (ID30286) and Polly Lawrence (ID30285), m. 14 Jan. 1790, Greene Co., GA.

Why do you have them listed in your surname list? Is that the only information you have for them? I need information prior to that date, if anyone has it.

Gregg, I hope this will be helpful for you.

I noticed a listing in the Rootsweb for Oscar Washington Bradshaw listing a wife named Jesse Yawn.

The reference # 19064 and ID # is I19064

Her birth name is Jessie Hannah Andrews. Her first husband was Oscar Washington Bradshaw. Her three children who lived to adulthood are listed - Oscar Washington Bradshaw Jr.,George Bradshaw, and my grandmother Mattie McLain Bradshaw.

They had one more child, Annie Bradshaw Dec. 3, 1894 - Sept. 27 1897. With those dates, she never showed up on a census.

One special note about the marriage of Jessie Hannah Andrews and Oscar Washington Bradshaw is that they were second cousins through their mothers (Brumfield).

Jessie Hannah Andrew's second husband was John C. Yawn. They did not have any children.
He had been married before and had a lot of grown children.

Jessie Hannah Andrew's parents are-
Susan Lucinda Brumfield (also seen as Lucinda Susan)
Feb. 1, 1845 - Feb. 20, 1933
and Andrew Jackson Andrews Sept. 19. 1837 - Apr. 3, 1914.

Susan Lucinda Brumfield's parents are Hannah Youngblood (Sept. 27, 1808 - Mar 25, 1885) b. in Georgia and died in Amite County Mississippi and Jesse Brumfield ( Mar 12, 1807 - July 25, 1884) born in South Carolina and died in Amite County Mississippi.

Oscar Washington Bradshaw
Jessie Hannah Andrews
Susan Lucinda Andrews (Lucinda S.)
Andrew Jackson Andrews
Hannah Youngblood
Jesse Brumfield
and Annie Bradshaw are all buried in the Andrews Cemetery in Liberty, Mississippi.

Oscar Washington Bradshaw's father is Thomas Edward Bradshaw b. in Nottoway County, Virginia March 18, 1814;
d. Jan. 19, 1911 buried in Bradshaw Cemetery in Dover, Yazoo County, Mississippi(not to be confused with Thomas Edwin Bradshaw which I have seen the same birth and death dates for). His gravestone has "Edward" so I think that is the correct middle name.

Oscar Washington Bradshaw's mother was Margaret Sisley Kelly Brumfield (Dec. 15, 1832 - Nov. 12, 1904).

I noticed that Catherine Lawson who married Richard Bennett had a son named George Stepto. Have you looked into the possibility of Thomas Lawson, the father of Catherine Lawson, being the son of Thomas Lawson from Northumberland Co., VA who married Maraget Stepto 1735 in Lancaster Co., VA? I am interested in Alice Middleton, dau. of George Middleton who was the first wife of Richard Bennett. Trying to place where George Middleton may have been and if he had any ties to Lancaster Co., Va.
