Gentry, Opal daughter 2 s F W IN IN IN none
Gentry, Mary daughter 3/12 s F W IN IN IN none
* Gentry, Elvira mother F W 72 Wd 1 1 KY KY TN
[Notes: This record suggests that Emma had only 6 children, all of whom are accounted for here. My records suggest there were two others born by the date of this census, including Roy Gentry, born 04 NOV 1897, and another child who was born and died in April of 1900. Also note the daughter here called "Opal" - I believe her to be aka Flo Gentry (perhaps Florence Gentry?). Also note that it is suggested that Elvira (Barrett) Gentry had only one child, presumably represented by William F. Gentry. This is clearly in error as the Gentry Bible and the 1900 census demonstrate that she had at least 9 children, more than one of which are known to have survived at least to the 1910 census. Finally, note that Elvira's mom is said to have been born in Tennessee - I can find no evidence to support even this mistaken assumption. All evidence suggests that Elvira's mother, Elizabeth Ann (Keith) Barrett, lived her entire life in Kentucky.]
