GEORGE MARTIN LOONEY - WILL
Will of George Martin Looney
(Transcribed, January 1998 by Larry W. Johnson)
The State of Texas
County of Hamilton
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That I, G. M. Looney of
Hamilton county, Texas, being of sound mind, and desiring to settle my
worldly affairs while I have strength to do so, do make this my last will.
FIRST:
I bequeath to my children and grand children as follows:
To my children, J. M. Looney, Mrs. M. A. Gandy, Mrs. Louisa M. Fuller and
Mrs. Lillie May Alsup, and to my grandsons, Homer Shannon and Hugh
Shannon, I give One Dollar each. The remainder of all my property, both
real and personal, I give and bequeath to my sons Joe B. Looney and Ezra
W. Looney, share and share alike. I make this distinction because I have
given financial help to the first named at different times, and the last
two named sons have always aided and assisted me and have shown love and
respect for me in my old age.
SECOND:
In the event of the death of either Joe B. Looney or
Ezra W. Looney, before my death, then the one living shall take the share
the one deceased would have taken.
THIRD:
I hereby nominate and appoint Dr. (illegible/erased) as
executor of this will, he to give a proper bond, giving him full power to
do any and all things necessary in the settlement of my estate, including
the authority to make partition of the real estate, and if that is
impractical, to sell same and partition the proceeds thereof, as to him
may seem best.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this
15th day of March A D 1933.
