LITTLE BEAR CREEK roughly parallels Bear Creek on the west side as it stretches to Midway on FM 2468. Little Bear Creek and Bear Creek merge before entering the Leon River. Highway 36 crosses Little Bear Creek five miles west of Hamilton.

"Little Bear Creek heads on the old Courtney Cow Ranch owned by Jim Peterson, runs through the M. N. Baker and S. D. Felt old sheep ranches and empties into Bear Creek on the Wilkerson ranch. Three bears were killed on the creek, hence the name."--Doris LaRue Stapleton and Capt. C. E. Horton.
