HICO POST OFFICE

Hico Post Office was opened 4 October, 1860, with Dr. John R. Alford’s being appointed postmaster. Dr. Alford named the post office Hico, since he was from Hico, Kentucky.  This post office was discontinued (Reconstruction Period) on 23 January, 1867, but was re-established on 12 October, 1871 with David Martin as postmaster.
