Sol Barron first settled down on the Leon
River. He had a few cattle
and horses. He came there early. Tom Barron was a good man. Evidently he
stayed there after Sol moved out into the Shive country, where he had a
horse ranch. While down in the river country old Man Sol Barron kept
entirely aloof from the mob or gang.
