Settled in Windsor, CT., where he m. 1) Ann PORTER 24 February 1641 Windsor, CT., (Wdsr VR Vol. MG; Vol.1, p. 56) daughter of John and Ann/Rosanna (White) Porter, bapt. 22 September 1621 Felsted, Essex, England, d. 21 July 1653 (Windsor, CT.), (Wdsr VR Vol. Col. 2, p. 160), m. 2) Elizabeth DRAKE 9 February 1653/4 Windsor, CT., (Wdsr VR Vol. Col. 2, p. 159) daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rogers) Drake, b. ca 1621, d. 8 June 1716 Norwich, CT. Elizabeth m. 2) John ELDERKIN 1 March 1660 Windsor, CT., (Wdsr VR Vol. 1, p. 56) 3 sons and 2 daughters were the issue of this marriage.
William had an original grant of a home-lot in Windsor, 18 rods wide, s. line being the original N. line of the Chief Justice Ellsworth's place (1892).
"25 December 1654, 'William Gaylord, the younger, in his life-time was joynt purchiser with his father, William Gaylord, the Elder, and John Gaylord, his brother, in a parcel of land that was John Warham's on the East side of the Great River.'
Inventory of estate proved 29 December 1656 'His house lot, containing 9 acres, with housing and orchard, 75 (pounds) 10 shillings; 5 acres meadow adjoining, "with seed in the ground" on one acre of it, 21 (pounds); on the east side of the Grear River, 20r, in breadth, 3 miles in length, in that lot that was near Warham's 28 (pounds); next to his father, William Gailard, 16 rods wide, length 3 miles, 15 (pounds); total value est., 364 (pounds) 11 shillings' (Genealogies and Biographies of Ancient Windsor, Henry R Stiles, p. 278)

On the town accounts at Norwich are found charges of 1 (pound) 6s for 12 watches with Gaylor at 2s per night on Dec. 19, 1727 was paid to Thomas Blythe for digging Gaylor's grave 5s.
