GASTON

Our branch of the very large Gaston family begins with Justice John Gaston of Chester District, South Carolina and his son, John Gaston, Jr.  Some information will also be available on the lineages/surnames of:  Knox, Bigham, Daugherty, Raper, Shields, Sheets, Toomey, Trotter & Davis.  Time lines include 1700 to 1900.  Much of the information derives from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monroe County, Tennessee.

HEMBREE

The Hembree lineage is a family with deep roots in pre-colonial America and & our Cherokee culture.  The spelling variations include Emory, Emery, Amory & more.  It was involved with the likes of James Oglethorpe, Daniel Boone, Cherokee Peace Chief, Attakullakulla, Sequoyah & Cherokee Beloved Woman, Nancy Ward.  You will see names of historical sites like Fort Loudon, Fort Prince George, Chota & many others.  Time frame is pre-1700 to 1900.  My grandmother's Worley lineage is here as well as some information and links to Lovinggood information.  Other surnames are Davis, Palmer & Sawyer.  The well known names of Ludovic Grant, Eugihooti, William Emory, Abraham Hembree & Drewey Hembree are included here also.
