NOTE:  Although this map has the following stamped on the top:

"After the Treaty of Versailles.  Showing Alsace-Lorraine Annexed to Germany and a Portion of France Overrun by the Germans",  this is incorrect. In fact, it was not the Treaty of Versailles in 1871, but the Treaty of Frankfurt (May 11th, 1871).  The Treaty of Versailles is the peace treaty of June 28th, 1919, which gave Alsace back to France.
